Elliott poised for substitute role

The former Derby central defender has yet to play this season because of a thigh strain picked up in pre-season yet could play some part against Chris Turner's men. "He may make the bench, but he is only just back in full training," manager Paul Trollope told his club's official website. Trollope is set to continue with Jo Kuffour and Darryl Duffy in attack, with the pair scoring three times since Rickie Lambert left for Southampton last week, but summer signing Dominic Blizzard will also be hoping to gain a starting berth. Rovers were 2-0 winners at Stockport at the weekend, getting their League One campaign up and running after an opening day defeat to Leyton Orient.
