Elliott happy Lambert is staying

Liverpudlian Lambert was the joint top scorer in the Football League with 29 goals last season and was linked with a move away from the Memorial Ground this summer. But the 27-year-old frontman looks set to stay with the Pirates, much to the relief of former Derby defender Elliott and his team-mates. Elliott told the club's official website: "It's a massive bonus Rickie is still here, there has been lots of speculation over the summer and from a selfish point of view the lads wanted him to stay. "He's here and fit and hopefully he can start the season like he was last season along with Darryl (Duffy) and Jo (Kuffour)."
