Trio return for Rovers

Bristol Rovers are boosted by the return of three key players for their clash with York in the FA Cup with Budweiser first round.

Striker Matt Harrold is available after a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury, Lee Brown has overcome his hamstring problem and David Clarkson is available again after serving a three-match ban.

Rovers manager John Ward will have to make changes with two of his players ruled out. Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole is suspended while Will Packwood misses out as parent club Birmingham do not want their loanee to be cup-tied.

Ollie Norburn is set to step in for O'Toole while Pat Keary and Tom Lockyer could fill the void left by Packwood as Rovers look to build on their first win for two months last weekend.

York will be without on-loan pair Luke O'Neill and Ben Davies for the game.

Right-back O'Neill and left-back Davies have both been refused permission to play by their respective parent clubs Burnley and Preston.

Lanre Oyebanjo is expected to step in for O'Neill, while Jamal Fyfield is a likely replacement for Davies. Other loanees, winger Ryan Brobbel, midfielder Elliott Whitehouse and goalkeeper Chris Kettings, are all available for selection.

Defender David McGurk is still struggling with a hamstring injury, but midfielder Josh Carson shook off the knock he sustained last week in time to play the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night.
