Bristol Rovers striker Ryan Brunt is pushing for a start against York.

The 20-year-old, who made a surprise 20-minute appearance last weekend at Newport, is in the frame to start after recovering from a minor operation that has kept him out for almost five weeks and coming through a reserve game against Hereford unscathed.

Fellow striker Matt Harrold is on the comeback trail but this match comes too soon for the former Wycombe forward.

Midfielder Matt Gill also came through an hour for the reserves in midweek while Garry Kenneth's return to full fitness continued with 90 minutes.

York manager Nigel Worthington will select his side from an unchanged squad.

Worthington has no new injury or suspension concerns, but is still without summer signing Sander Puri, who will remain sidelined for another month due to a hamstring injury.

The Minstermen have scored only one goal in all four matches this season and Worthington could be tempted to hand Wes Fletcher his first start for the club.

Craig Clay returned to the starting line-up for last week's goalless home draw with Hartlepool in place of Lewis Montrose and will be hoping to retain his place in midfield.
