Norburn blow for Rovers

Bristol Rovers will be without Oliver Norburn for the visit of York.

The 20-year-old midfielder has not recovered from an ankle injury in time to be available for the clash with the Minstermen or the Easter Monday meeting with Dagenham.

Norburn was withdrawn during the 2-0 victory over Port Vale and the injured required the use of a walking boot in the days that followed.

Manager John Ward, who saw his side's fixture with Bradford postponed last weekend, has Joe Anyinsah and Fabian Broghammer available again after hamstring injuries while Ellis Harrison is back at the training ground after Wales Under-21 duty.

Influential midfielder John-Joe O'Toole is set to feature but he will report back to parent club Colchester next week, with his three-month loan spell with the Pirates set to end after the Easter weekend.

Striker Matt Harrold (knee) is edging closer to a return to action following a six-month spell on the sidelines while fellow long-term absentees Garry Kenneth, Matt Gill and Adam Virgo have been at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall recently in a bid to boost their own recoveries.

Michael Coulson could be included in York's squad following a five-month injury lay-off.

The York striker suffered knee ligament damage in October and has been sidelined since, but may travel with Nigel Worthington's squad.

Coulson was scheduled to play for 45 minutes with the academy on Friday and is then hoping to make the trip to Bristol.

Worthington will include latest loan signing Adam Reed in his squad, the Sunderland midfielder arriving in time earlier this week.

Richard Cresswell, on loan from Sheffield United, is expected to resume up front after making his debut in last week's defeat at Torquay.

Lanre Oyebanjo is hoping to return to contention following a calf strain, but fellow defender Chris Doig (knock) is still out and midfielder Scott Kerr (calf) remains doubtful.

Worthington will have to shuffle things around as he can name only five loanees in his matchday squad and now has seven at his disposal.

The Minstermen are hoping to climb out of the bottom two with their first win in 16 matches.
