Lockyer misses out

Bristol Rovers will be without Tom Lockyer when they host Portsmouth.

The young defender was booked for the fifth time this season in the midweek FA Cup replay with Crawley, a match that was abandoned with just over 15 minutes remaining, meaning he will sit out the clash with Pompey.

Manager John Ward recalled Ellis Harrison to the starting line-up for the first time since mid-October and the Welsh winger will hope he has done enough to keep his place while on-loan Preston striker Chris Beardsley was also handed a start.

Ward will have to decide whether to stick with Beardsley or recall former Wycombe forward Matt Harrold who was introduced as a second-half substitute.

Portsmouth could welcome back Danny East for the game.

The defender is back in training three weeks after he was taken to hospital with a neck injury having landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge against Wycombe.

New boss Richie Barker, who hopes to extend Dan Potts' loan spell from West Ham in time for the trip, will be weighing up changes after watching Pompey slump 2-0 at home to Newport in his first game in charge last weekend.

Striker Tom Craddock is the only definite absentee with a knee injury.
