Double worry for Bristol Rovers ahead of Plymouth clash

Bristol Rovers have questions marks against new signing Liam Lawrence and defender James Clarke for the visit of fellow high-flyers Plymouth.

Veteran playmaker Lawrence, who joined Rovers from Shrewsbury earlier this month, missed last week's win at Oxford and could be absent again with a calf problem, while Clarke is struggling with illness.

Steve Mildenhall is set to continue in goal with Will Puddy having missed much of the season with injury while striker Ellis Harrison is absent after this week joining Hartlepool on loan.

Rovers are fourth in Sky Bet League Two, nine points behind leaders Argyle, and manager Darrell Clarke told the Bristol Post: "We've done our homework and we know what strengths Plymouth have that we have to guard against and we also know they have weaknesses that we will look to exploit, as we would do any other team."

Plymouth midfielder Graham Carey will be in the squad for the trip to the Memorial Stadium.

The Pilgrims playmaker has been out of action for seven weeks but is now back in full training and should take a place on the bench.

Jordon Forster is still looking to make his debut after signing from Hibernian earlier this month but the defender may find it tough with boss Derek Adams having a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Adams, though, will have to do without midfielder Lee Cox, who has re-signed for Stevenage on loan until the end of the season.
