Bristol Rovers' new signing Kaid Mohamed is set to make his bow against Newport.

The 29-year-old signed a loan deal until the end of the season on Thursday and the Port Vale forward is available for a Rovers debut against the Exiles.

Mohamed's arrival means Mitch Harding faces a battle to retain his place having been handed a rare start against York last weekend.

Rovers have an opportunity to lift themselves away from the League Two relegation zone with four of their next five games at the Memorial Stadium, starting with the visit of Justin Edinburgh's men.

Lenny Pidgeley looks set to start for Newport.

The postponement of County's clash with Dagenham last Saturday has given the former Exeter shot-stopper two weeks to fully heal his broken thumb and he looks likely to be passed fully fit for the clash with John Ward's men.

Manager Justin Edinburgh, whose injury-hit squad has been stretched on a number of occasions this season, has been boosted by the return to full training of Max Porter, (groin) Andrew Hughes and back-up goalkeeper Jamie Stephens (both hamstring).

Byron Anthony has also stepped up his recovery from a broken leg he suffered in August, a recovery described by his manager as 'incredible' but this match comes too soon for the former Pirate.
