But the former striker Chris Zebroski believes Rovers have it in them to buck the trend and improve their recent form, and he is predicting a positive result from their trip to the league leading Shrimpers this weekend.
Zebroski told www.thisisbristol.co.uk: "These are hard times and nobody is hurting more than us. But as long as we stick together, I think we can come out of it a lot stronger. All we can do is get back on the training ground, work hard, put it behind us and look forward to Saturday's game at Southend. It will be a different sort of game altogether. We will go there very much as underdogs - so it's probably one we'll go and win. We won at Morecambe when they were top of the table - and we had gone into that game off the back of a home defeat against a side we'd been expected to beat, so hopefully we can get the same sort of result at Southend."
We will see Chris, but it's certainly not a banker whatever the bookies say, they have a decent squad to chose from.
