Matt Taylor on target again as Bristol Rovers win

Matt Taylor scored his 19th goal of the season to seal a 3-1 home win for Bristol Rovers over Sky Bet League Two play-off rivals AFC Wimbledon.

Jermaine Easter nodded Rovers into a 28th-minute lead from Lee Brown's left-wing cross. The striker did not appear to make great contact with a downward header and goalkeeper Kelle Roos might have done better.

Ten minutes later, Ollie Clarke was given a sight of goal from the edge of the box and buried a low right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Jon Meades gave Wimbledon hope by heading in Jake Reeves' 52nd-minute corner before Taylor put the result beyond doubt, shooting home from 12 yards after 78 minutes.

A bad night for the visitors was compounded when substitute Adebayo Akinfenwa received a straight red card for dissent in the closing moments after a free-kick was awarded against him inside the Rovers box.

Wimbledon had their chances at 2-1 down, but goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall denied them with some fine saves.
