The 27-year-old missed most of the last campaign with a sequence of knee problems and spent two weeks during the summer with American knee specialist Bill Knowles, who in the past has helped Tiger Woods, Michael Owen and Jonny Wilkinson. Trollope told the Bristol Evening Post: "Everyone has come back fit, and Danny has returned from his rehabilitation programme at a clinic in America, which was a fantastic experience for him. "It aided his rehabilitation to such an extent that he was able to join in training with us for the first few days. "There will be times during the next week or two where he has to do some individual work, but for most of pre-season we expect him to train with the rest of the group. The way it's been going so far, we expect him to be fit for the first game of the season. It will be like having a new signing. We only got five games out of him last season, which was frustrating because he looked to be getting back to his commanding best before he suffered the knee injury. "We paid money for him and he is a big player for us, so if we can get it right in pre-season it will be fantastic to see him lining up for the first game."
