Blizzard hopeful over fitness
The summer signing from Stockport has been laid low with flu and a chest infection and only started light training last week.
But the midfielder still hopes to face Leyton Orient a week on Saturday.
He told the Bristol Evening Post: "You obviously want to be out there playing games on the pitch so you can get to know the players. Off the pitch the lads have been very welcoming and they are a good bunch, so I've settled in pretty well.
"But I've had flu for a fortnight and it has set me back, so I'm a bit behind the other boys.
"I'm feeling a lot better now and I'm confident I can still get fit for the start of the season, but we'll just have to see how it goes in training and progress from there."
