Alex caretaker boss Dario Gradi has stated he would like to keep the experienced stopper when his loan spell expires at the end of the month.[LNB]Rovers are expected to grant the 31-year-old a free transfer in the new year but a move to Gresty Road is not a formality, according to the player's agent.[LNB]"Crewe are in with a shout, but not at any cost. If the deal is right, then fine, but if it's not, then it's not," Clive Hart told the Sentinel.[LNB]"Steve has done very well and he has an illustrious CV. We will speak to Crewe at some point and we will also see what else is out there."[LNB]Earlier in the season, Phillips had an 11-game loan stint at Shrewsbury. The Shropshire club have maintained an interest while Hart revealed several Scottish Premier League sides have also made enquiries.[LNB][LNB]
