Williams out of Wales wilderness

The 28-year-old has spent three years in the international wilderness since last being selected to represent his country by then-manager Mark Hughes in 2005. But John Toshack has called upon the Merthyr Tydfil-born playmaker for the games against Finland and Germany, to be played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on March 28 and April 1 respectively. "I am absolutely delighted with the call-up and a little surprised as well," Williams told the club's official website. "It has been a while since I was last involved but obviously I hope to add to my two caps in the coming weeks. "My focus has been on getting back to full fitness and playing well for Bristol City, then I knew the international side of things would look after itself. I am really looking forward to the games."
