The Lithuania striker joined his new team-mates for training on Monday after moving on a season-long loan from Scottish champions Rangers. The 30-year-old's arrival offers manager Gary Johnson a further option in attack and he will challenge David Clarkson, John Akinde and the returning Danny Haynes for the right to partner Nicky Maynard. Haynes is back in contention after missing the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace through suspension but Louis Carey could miss out as a result of the calf injury that forced him to sit out that game. Johnson will be looking forward to concentrating on football again after becoming embroiled in a war of words with Palace over Freddie Sears' phantom 'goal' during Saturday's game.
