Stambolziev rejects Robins deal

The 18-year-old forward was one of four academy players to be offered a deal at the end of last season along with Marlon Jackson, Ashley Kington and Joe Edwards - who have all accepted the terms put to them. But Robins boss Gary Johnson has revealed that Stambolziev was unhappy with the contract and expects the Australian to sign for another club. "I have had a couple of conversations with his representatives and we made him an offer. It is the same offer we always make our first-year professionals, where they stay on that until Christmas time and then we renegotiate if they are doing well," said Johnson. "The representatives have told me that the lad is not too happy with the figures that have been given to him. I find it quite strange that he couldn't live off that and I think his representatives are trying to find him a club in Greece. "We still hold his registration, so there would be compensation if a club is interested in taking him. His representatives have a big say in these things and that is a shame when it comes to young lads."
