Robins wait over Fontaine

Bristol City defender Liam Fontaine is a major doubt for the clash with Burnley at Ashton Gate Fontaine continues to struggle with a long-standing ankle injury and he will make the decision on whether he feels fit enough to play. Damion Stewart is on standby to deputise. Whether Fontaine makes the match or not, he is set to undergo surgery on the problem next week which will more than likely rule him out for the rest of the season. Better news for the Robins is midfielder Cole Skuse (toe) and defender Lewis Carey (skull fracture) could be back playing earlier than first thought with both given the go-ahead to start light training and fitness work. Long-term injury absentees striker Jon Stead (ankle) and full-back Jamie McAllister (rib fracture) have also returned to training. The shortening of their injury list means boss Keith Millen has lessened his search for a loan player although he is hoping to extend the stay of West Ham defender Jordan Spence, who is set to play the last match of his one-month spell.
