Robins boss happy with progress

The Robins had suffered an indifferent build-up, falling to defeats against Ajax and Hereford until beating Wolves 2-0 at the weekend. "I feel we've at least caught up a little bit," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "I now consider us to be in a strong position for this time in pre-season. "We were given a lesson by Ajax but I did say at the time we were still fairly new to the season and they were quite some way ahead of us in terms of fitness. "A week in pre-season is quite a long time and the Wolves game was a good one for us because our players all gelled and showed what they can do. It was exactly what we needed."
