No ex-skuses from Cole

Cole Skuse has promised supporters that Bristol City's form will improve following their latest pre-season setback. The Robins went down 3-1 to Exeter on Tuesday night, meaning they have won just once in six pre-season outings. However Skuse, who is wearing the captain's armband in Louis Carey's absence, believes City showed improvements against the Grecians following last week's losses to Torquay and Aldershot and is confident his team-mates will be ready for their first the npower Championship game against Millwall. "We will be firing on all cylinders by the time the first Championship game comes around," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "I can assure the fans we will be ready and they will see a much better performance when we play Millwall. "We were shocking against Aldershot on Saturday and not much better against Torquay last week. No disrespect to the lower-league teams we have been playing, but we should not have lost those games and the fans were entitled to ask what was going on. "Hopefully, we have got those poor performances out of our system. The result may have been disappointing (against Exeter), but this was a bit better."
