Month on sidelines for Akinde
Akinde sustained the injury in a reserve team game earlier this week and boss Gary Johnson is unsure how long he will be sidelined for.
"John Akinde went over on his ankle which is disappointing for him and for us." Johnson told the club's official website.
"We are letting the swelling go down before we assess it, but suspect it will be three or four weeks."
The 20-year-old, who joined City from Ebbsfleet a year ago, started the 2-0 Carling Cup home defeat by Carlisle and has been a substitute in four other games in the campaign thus far.
