Millen slams "ridiculous" loan fees

Boss Keith Millen has revealed Bristol City have withdrawn from a loan deal because of a "ridiculous" fee request from the player`s parent club. Millen has yet to make a signing during the January transfer window but he insists "it is not for the want of trying". "I spent all Sunday on the phone and I thought I was close to getting someone in," Millen told City`s official website. "In the end the club concerned came back to me with a ridiculous loan fee so that one is dead and buried. "I think teams are going to try to hold on to their players right until the last minute. Often it`s a chain effect too, with clubs getting players in then freeing them up to let someone go. "We are trying to get players in and if it doesn`t happen then it is not for the want of trying."
