Millen eyes reinforcements

Manager Keith Millen admits he may be forced back into the transfer market in response to a mounting injury crisis at Bristol City. Millen's defensive options are stretched almost to breaking point, with long-term absentees Jamie McAllister, Louis Carey and Cole Skuse having been recently joined in the treatment room by Steven Caulker and Liam Fontaine. Millen has already recruited right-back Jordan Spence on loan from West Ham and may have to bring in another defender if Fontaine requires further surgery on his troublesome ankle. Ahead of next week's deadline for loan signings, Millen told the Bristol Post: "The number of injuries we have picked up among defenders is unbelievable. They seem to be coming all at once and all in the same position. "The deadline for loan signings is not far away and we are going to have to have a really good think about whether we have enough to get us through the rest of the season. "I don't want us to just scrape through the last eight games, I want us to finish strongly. If I feel I have to bring in another player, then I will go to the chairman and ask him if he can back me one last time."
