Midfielder has Premier ambition
The midfielder signed last week after his contract at the Glasgow giants expired and is now looking forward to a fresh start with City.
He told the Bristol Evening Post: "I don't see it as a step down, but I do see it as a new challenge in a very tough league - and one I'm looking forward to.
"I've played in Scotland for the last 10 or 11 years and it's mostly two teams who dominate. It's good to have a fresh challenge and to see where we can take Bristol City.
"They are a very ambitious club with a young team. Hopefully I can come and help them progress. We have got to aim high and try to reach the goal of the Premier League."
