Nicky Maynard could make his long-awaited return to the Bristol City squad against Leeds at the weekend.
Last season's leading goal scorer has yet to feature this campaign after undergoing knee surgery during the summer.
Maynard got another run-out for the reserves on Wednesday, playing an hour in a 1-1 draw against Swindon, and City boss Keith Millen believes he could be ready to come back into the first-team squad.
"Nicky could come into the squad for the Leeds game," Millen told the club`s official website.
"He says his knee feels fine after the recent reserve-team games and his fitness is improving all the time."
