Maynard blow for Robins

Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard has been ruled out for up to four months following a knee operation. Last season`s 21-goal top scorer had been blighted by the problem all summer and went under the knife on Wednesday. New manager Keith Millen, who was immediately installed at the helm on a three-year deal following Steve Coppell`s shock resignation on Thursday, is already looking to sign a replacement for Maynard. "It is a massive blow for us losing someone who scored that many goals last season," Millen told the club`s official website. "Everyone is gutted for Nicky and now he needs time to recover. "In the meantime we need goals and we are actively looking to try to add to the players we already have."
