The former Czech Republic Under-21 international impressed in Saturday's 2-0 win against Wolves and Johnson is eager to bring him to Ashton Gate after Adriano Basso handed in a transfer request. The Robins will now approach Lejsal's club, FC Brno, with a view to taking the 26-year-old on loan for the season to provide competition for Dean Gerken and Stephen Henderson. Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post: "With Basso still on the wage bill, the only way we can really do it is to bring him in on loan. Martin wants his chance in English football and hopefully something can be agreed between the various parties. "He did everything that was asked of him against Wolves and he looks the part. We already have Dean Gerken at the club and he is a very capable first-team goalkeeper, while Stephen Henderson is only another five weeks away from being fit. "If we can add Lejsal, then we'll have three very decent keepers at the club who can see us through a Championship season."
