Johnson slams international schedule
Robins trio Jamie McAllister, Paul Hartley and David Clarkson have been named in the Scotland squad to face Norway in a World Cup qualifier next Wednesday.
New signing Lewin Nyatanga will be involved with Wales for their friendly in Montenegro and Christian Ribeiro and James Wilson have been called up by Wales Under-21s for their clash with Hungary.
Subsequently City could be without up to six players for next Tuesday's Carling Cup tie against Brentford.
Johnson told the club's official website: "I was very surprised to learn of the games that week.
"Someone hasn't planned that very well at all. It's not an international week so it's unlikely we would have to let them go. But they are qualifying matches so it makes it hard for us to say no."
