Johnson praises 'first-class' fans
The Robins reached the play-off final in 2008 but failed to live up to those expectations with a 10th-placed finish in the recent campaign.
And Johnson told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted that there are almost 10,000 season tickets already sold for the new season. It's a fantastic effort.
"These fans are the lifeblood of this club - they are one of the main reasons we - myself, the coaching staff and the players - want to be successful.
"The support at Ashton Gate and away from home has been first-class and I will be doing all I can to ensure we can bring our fans the success they want and deserve."
