Johnson gutted by Foxes late show

Johnson thought his side had gained a much-needed victory in the Championship on Tuesday night when David Clarkson volleyed them ahead in the first minute of stoppage time.[LNB]But there were five minutes added in all and the home team's tendency to concede late goals this season came back to haunt them as Dyer fired home in a crowded box.[LNB]It was no more than Leicester deserved but Johnson admitted his players were inconsolable in the dressing room.[LNB]"I'm going back in there to have another word with them because I don't want them leaving the ground dejected," he said.[LNB]"They gave everything and our supporters were magnificent in getting behind them. As the game went on, we looked the more likely winners, having had some luck earlier on.[LNB]"We'll have to look at the technical side of conceding another late goal. But the performance was one to build on against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.[LNB]"We created chances in the second half and it's not often our fans applaud us off after a home draw."[LNB]Leicester manager Nigel Pearson felt the equaliser was no more than his side deserved.[LNB]He said: "It would have been a travesty if we had lost that game.[LNB]"We could have been two goals up at half-time and, even though Bristol showed more in the second half, we certainly didn't deserve to lose.[LNB]"We wasted chances and we felt there was a push on Richie Wellens in the build-up to their goal.[LNB]"The results mean we are still in with a play-off shout and the top six remains a realistic aim for us."[LNB]Matt Oakley was denied by a post after 62 minutes, seeing his shot rebound off the upright into the arms of Bristol goalkeeper Dean Gerken.[LNB]Leicester should have been in front by then. Paul Gallagher somehow contrived to head straight at Gerken when in yards of space to meet Martyn Waghorn's 35th-minute cross.[LNB]The game really opened up in the closing stages when Clarkson volleyed wide and then had a shot saved by Chris Weale, who was returning to his former club.[LNB]At the other end, Andy King shot over after Dyer's run and pass and it looked as though Leicester would pay for their poor finishing when Clarkson's low volley found its way through a crowd of players into the net.[LNB]But Pearson's men refused to lie down and Dyer raced to celebrate with 1,000 travelling fans after a goal that left Johnson holding his head in his hands in the Bristol dugout.[LNB][LNB]
