Johnson glad of 'valuable' point

Although Saturday's goalless stalemate was enough to keep the Robins in the Championship play-off places, victory would have seen them move to within eight points of long-time leaders Wolves after they suffered a surprise home defeat to Plymouth. Promotion rivals Reading, Birmingham, Cardiff, Ipswich and QPR were also beaten at the weekend, while Swansea were held at home by bottom club Charlton. Drawing with Blackpool was seen by some as an opportunity missed, but Johnson believes the point gained could be decisive come the final reckoning in May. "The result doesn't make our challenge any less effective. We have actually gained a point on quite a few of our rivals and kept another clean sheet, so it is not the end of the world," said City manager. "We are not going to beat ourselves up and let it affect us for the rest of the season because we still have 11 games left and we are in a good position."
