Johnson: Failure to beat best cost us

Johnson had hoped that his side would be competing in the play-offs as they did last year but a poor run of form, including a 4-0 defeat to play-off qualifiers Burnley on Sunday, meant they finished 10th in the league. "The wheels came off, definitely," Johnson admitted. "We have had games we could have picked up more points from. We have been a little bit unlucky in a few. "But over the course of the season we haven't beaten enough teams in the top 10. "In my time here only two teams have beaten us twice in a season and that is Birmingham and Burnley."
