James set for recall

Keith Millen is likely to restore David James to Bristol City`s starting line-up when he takes charge of the club as permanent manager for the first time at Doncaster following Steve Coppell's surprise resignation. The England goalkeeper, who was beaten three times on his debut during the home defeat to Millwall last weekend, was rested against Southend in the Carling Cup as Dean Gerken was given a run-out. Midfielder Cole Skuse is expected to be available despite being forced off with a hamstring problem at half-time in the first-round loss at Roots Hall on Tuesday night. Irish midfielders Patrick Hoban and Jimmy Keohane could be added to the squad after signing one-year deals. Louis Carey (heel) and Christian Ribeiro (back) are edging their way back to first-team contention but this game looks like coming too soon for the defenders. Last season`s 21-goal top scorer Nicky Maynard will be out for up to four months after undergoing knee surgery this week. Fellow forwards Sam Vokes (hamstring) and Danny Haynes (groin and thigh), defenders Lewin Nyatanga and James Wilson and midfielder Kalifa Cisse (thigh) complete City`s list of absentees.
