Deepdale trip first up for Robins
Gary Johnson's men then host Crystal Palace on August 15 and QPR on August 18.
The Robins, who finished 10th last season, can also look forward to visits to Newcastle and Middlesbrough on October 3 and January 30, with the Magpies travelling to Ashton Gate on March 20.
Johnson will take his side to QPR on Boxing Day before entertaining Watford on December 28 in what appears to be a tricky festive period.
The curtain will come down on City's season with a trip to Blackpool on May 2.
