Clarkson prepared to be patient

The Scotland striker has endured a frustrating start to his Robins career after being laid low with a virus. But he scored for the reserves this week and is targeting a return to the first team. However, with Nicky Maynard in a rich vein of form and Alvaro Saborio and Danny Haynes vying for starting berths, Clarkson knows he may have to bide his time. He told the club's official website: "The illness left me drained. I was floored by it and was just in bed - I had no energy at all. "Hopefully I'll reach 100% in the next week to 10 days and then it's up to the gaffer [Gary Johnson] with regards to the first team. "The lads have been doing well in my absence and I'll have to wait my turn."
