City star Ribeiro on right track
The 19-year-old will return for pre-season training on Wednesday, 11 months after rupturing his knee ligaments on his first-team debut.
"Certainly if anyone deserves it he does," Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post. "The work he has put in has been nothing short of unbelievable.
"Everybody wants him to do well. Christian is fine. He has been training throughout the summer and come July 1 he will be training normally with the lads."
The Wales Under-21 international will also travel to Portugal with the Robins' squad for their training camp next week.
