City put Adebola talks on hold

The 33-year-old striker, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has been offered new terms, but with several Championship clubs having publicly courted him, Adebola is keen to see how things unfold. "There has been no progress on contract talks with Dele and there won't be now until the end of the season," Johnson told Sky Sports. "We had our chances to negotiate and like most players over the age of 24, and Dele is well over 24, the player reserves his right to wait until the end of the season and see what is out there for him. "That is fair enough and as long as it doesn't affect his performances, which it hasn't, then we don't have a problem with that. "Obviously we want him to stay and the offer that we have made tells him that we want him to stay, but it's his prerogative and we will have to wait and see."
