Osborne boost for City

Bristol City are boosted by the return of Karleigh Osborne when they host Walsall

The on-loan Millwall defender returns from suspension to boost manager Steve Cotterill's options as he looks to drag the Robins off the foot of League One.

Veteran defender Louis Carey will become the club's all-time appearance holder if he features in his 646th match for the club. The 36-year-old drew level with John Ateyo on Saturday as City drew 1-1 with Notts County.

Cotterill is yet to oversee a league victory since taking the helm and should he decide to shuffle his pack then the likes of Ryan Taylor, Wes Burns and Joe Bryan are pushing for starts.

Walsall will be without Adam Chambers while Craig Westcarr is a doubt.

Midfielder Chambers was booked for the fifth time this season in Saturday's 2-0 win over Carlisle and now serves an automatic one-match suspension.

Westcarr, meanwhile, was forced off shortly before half-time having taken a knock just above his knee and the striker will be assessed.

The play-off chasing Saddlers, who have not lost on Boxing Day since 2004, travel to Ashton Gate aiming to record three successive league wins for the first time this season.
