Joe Bryan winning fitness fight for Bristol City

Bristol City expect Joe Bryan to be fit for the Sky Bet Championship clash with Aston Villa at Ashton Gate.

Bryan has missed the last two games with groin and hip problems and Korey Smith is also closing in on full fitness after an ankle injury which has prevented him from featuring this term.

England Under-19 defender Taylor Moore could be added to the squad after joining from Lens on a three-year contract, while Lee Tomlin and Tammy Abraham will return to the starting line-up after being rested to the bench for the midweek EFL Cup win at Scunthorpe.

Adam Matthews (hamstring) and Zak Vyner (ankle) remain out.

Mile Jedinak could make his Aston Villa debut after receiving the necessary clearance following his move from Crystal Palace.

The midfielder was unavailable for last weekend's 0-0 draw at Derby as the club were still waiting for his visa confirmation.

Ritchie De Laet could also made his debut for the club after joining from Leicester this week but Jores Okore is struggling with a knee injury.

Gabby Agbonlahor, Adama Traore and Joleon Lescott are all out of Roberto Di Matteo's plans and will not feature as the club look to move them off the wage bill.
