Whing's in for second month

Brighton & Hove Albion have secured the services of on-loan defender Andrew Whing for a second month.

The 22-year-old has impressed during his first spell at the south coast club and Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins believes the Coventry City defender has played an integral part in their recent run of positive results.

"His first game was against Blackpool and I've got to be honest I felt a bit sorry for him. He must have wondered what he was coming into," Wilkins told the club's official website.

"But he's played a major part in the run that we're having at the moment."

Speaking about making the move into a permanent transfer, he added: "It's a bit early for that, but if he continues playing and taking part as he has done then we'd be considering that for sure."
