Slade bemoans lack of options
08 Sep 2009 - 17:02:02
Brighton are facing a full-back crisis after Andrew Whing sustained a dead leg in the weekend win against Wycombe Wanderers.
Whing joins Jake Wright and Jim McNulty in the Withdean Stadum treatment room and is already a doubt for Saturday's long trip to Carlisle United.
Seagulls manager Russell Slade said: "We're hoping that Wright and McNulty will soon be able to play. We need a full-back fit if we can.
"That's the one area in pre-season where I didn't think I was going to have too many problems and here I am having all my problems at the back in terms of form and players being fit and available.
"You need your back four to be consistent and reliable. Unfortunately, we haven't had that, although we have been a little bit more reliable in the last two games."
