Brighton & Hove Albion boss Micky Adams is hoping to sign recent loanees Joe Anyinsah and Matt Richards on a permanent basis.
Preston winger Anyinsah has been on loan at the Withdean for three months, while Ipswich defender Richards' temporary deal with the Seagulls expired last weekend.
Speaking about Anyinsah, Adams told the club's official website: "He has expressed a desire to come and join us.
"We've had an initial chat with Preston and we'll see what develops.
"We've had an initial talk with Matt's agent, but personal terms may be a problem.
"Ipswich had been supplementing his wages to a degree, so we may have to look elsewhere for a left-back."
Meanwhile, the Seagulls are also set to extend the loan stay of Charlton striker Stuart Fleetwood to a third month after this weekend's game at Walsall.
