Seagulls snare Westlake

Brighton have agreed a deal to bring Leeds United midfielder Ian Westlake to the Withdean Stadium on a month's loan.

The 24-year-old has slipped out of the first-team picture at Elland Road recently and had been made available for loan by United boss Gary McAllister.

Albion manager Dean Wilkins told the club's official website: "We're delighted to bring Ian in on loan. He's exactly the calibre of player we want to bring in to strengthen the squad.

"He has experience of playing in the Championship, and will give us another dimension to our options in midfield."

Westlake has scored three goals in 52 appearances for Leeds since joining the club from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2006.
