    Seagulls snap up Dickinson

    15 Jul 2009 - 15:03:13

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Liam Dickinson from Derby County for an undisclosed fee.

The striker has signed a three-year deal at the Withdean Stadium after passing a medical.

The 23-year-old is already much-travelled. Spells as a youngster with Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers came before Stockport County came in for the striker when he was playing part-time football.

Success with County led to a big-money move to Pride Park last year, but Dickinson failed to make an impact in the Championship and was loaned out to Huddersfield, Blackpool and Leeds United.

Seagulls manager Russell Slade told the club's official website: "We're delighted that we've made the signing. I wanted to strengthen the forward line, and he brings something different to the table.

"His goalscoring record is very good and he has a good goals-per-game ratio, and, like one or two of the other signings I've made this summer, he's hungry to get his career back on track. I'm sure there's a lot more to come from him."
