Brighton & Hove Albion are contemplating making the loan stay of Dean Bowditch at the Withdean Stadium into a permanent move.
The 22-year-old striker is on loan at the League One side from Ipswich Town and Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins has been delighted by the partnership he has forged with Joe Gatting.
"They looked a good partnership. We've got options now and it's up to us to just make sure we pick the right one," Wilkins told the club's official website.
"I've reminded him we've not brought him here to make the numbers up.
"We're looking at it as more of a long-term thing as well so, while he's here, if he likes us and we like him and that all comes together then we'll look to make it more permanent.
"It's still quite early, so we have got to be open-minded about it. It could be a longer loan, it could be something longer than that, we just have to wait and see how it goes over the next few weeks."
