Seagulls boosted by returns

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Dean Wilkins claims the return of three players from long-term injuries has provided an early pre-season boost to his squad. Wilkins has supplemented the playing staff at the Withdean Stadium with just Nicky Forster and Andrew Whing since the end of last season, but the returns of Charlie Oatway, Paul Reid and Adam Hinshelwood has been a further shot in the arm. "It is almost like having five new players," he told the club's official website. "That's how it feels to me because we missed Adam Hinshelwood, Paul Reid and Charlie Oatway all last season. "Whingy and Nicky are great signings for us. Even though Whingy is still only 22 he's played 100 games at Championship level. He was fantastic for us earlier in the season. "We're hoping that Nicky will be that player that scores us the odd goal in a tight game - and that's what was slightly lacking last year."
