Savage opens new deal talks
05 Nov 2007 - 11:11:22
Brighton & Hove Albion striker Bas Savage insists he is keen to extend his stay with the club.
The 24-year-old's current contract expires at the end of December and he has already opened talks with Seagulls chairman Dick Knight about a new deal.
Savage told the club's official website: "I want to stay. Everyone has made me feel welcome, staff, players and the fans have been very special to me.
"I just want to get my contract sorted but in the meantime I'll let my football do the talking.
"It all seems to click here. Everything has really taken off for me. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I'm very grateful it's happened. It's been great and long may it continue."
Savage has found the net nine times in 31 appearances for the League One side since moving to the Withdean Stadium from Gillingham in January.
