Poyet demands reality check

Brighton boss Guy Poyet called for a reality check after seeing his side`s lead at the top of League One cut to one point with a 1-0 defeat at MK Dons. The Seagulls are a point clear of Bournemouth but have games in hand after Daniel Powell`s tap-in gave 10-man Dons the win. Sean O`Hanlon was sent off for two bookable offences but both managers felt he should have gone earlier, while Poyet admitted the home side should have had a penalty when Rowan Vine was brought down and was critical of referee Carl Boyeson.Poyet said: "I need to make a point to the league or the referee's association, how can the referee miss a yellow card when he sees a foul? Or how can he not give a penalty to MK Dons?"I would be ashamed if it happened to me and I didn't give the penalty. It's embarrassing. I don't know who it was, the referee or the linesman, but I know why he didn't give it - because he didn't send O'Hanlon off earlier."It was a penalty. He cannot have any excuse, there was nobody in his way the linesman didn't have any wall between him and the action. So why didn't he give it? Embarrassing."We have no excuses. I would love to have excuses, but that is life. You need to accept when you do things right or wrong. We have played 32 games and we have lost five. But if it looks like we died, let`s remember we are still top."
