New deal for Seagulls keeper

Brighton & Hove Albion have handed goalkeeper John Sullivan a new one-year contract.

The 20-year-old has yet to break into the first-team, but has set his sights on challenging regular keeper Michel Kuipers for the number one jersey next season.

"I didn't know if I would be offered a new deal as so many players were being released," Sullivan told the club's official website.

"So for me it is an honour to get another year, but I don't really want to settle on that.

"I want to be in the team for the first game of the season, that's my aim.

"Everyone keeps saying that I am a young goalkeeper, but this time next year I'll be 21 and I need to be playing games."
