Lynch reiterates exit desire
22 Sep 2008 - 13:24:55
Defender Joel Lynch appears to have played his last game for Brighton after handing in a second transfer request.
The 20-year-old was left out of the Seagulls squad for Saturday's dismal defeat to nine-man Walsall.
Lynch had a transfer request rejected by the League One side last month, but Adams confirmed after the Saddlers loss: "Joel reiterated his desire to leave the club this week and I felt he wasn't in the right frame of mind to play."
Of his side's embarrassing display against Walsall, Adams added: "When they go down to ten men and then nine, we should win the game. I can't stand here and defend the players or myself.
"I understand the frustration of the fans and they've got a right to be frustrated. It's not nice listening to the boos as you come off the pitch, but I'm fully focused on what I've got to do.
"I knew it would be a slow process to achieve what I wanted to do, but I'm going to keep ploughing on and do my best to turn it around. There's no hiding place."
