Lynch committed to Seagulls

Brighton defender Joel Lynch is determined to fight his way back into the Seagulls first team, having had a transfer request rejected by the League One.

The 20-year-old had seemed set to leave the Withdean Stadium before the transfer window slammed shut, but has stayed put and featured in the midweek win at Northampton Town.

He told The Argus: "As far as I am concerned that is all behind me now and I just want to get on with my job.

"I'm a Brighton player and I am going to do the best I can to try to win a place in the team.

"I didn't know what decision the club were going to make but I am happy with it and I am glad to be playing again.

"They are a great bunch of lads and I enjoy working with the manager."
